Testimonials
-
I have been very deliberate in selecting Kara Wilkes as both a choreographer and faculty member. As an artist, educator, and deeply compassionate human being, she brings extraordinary creative integrity into every studio she enters. Her insight, curiosity, and generosity elevate the process for everyone around her. I have proudly commissioned three world premieres from Kara—and look forward to many more.

Bonnefoux McBride Artistic Director, Chautauqua Dance -
Kara brings with her a particular thoughtfulness and care for herself and others, interest in the ‘how’ and ‘why’ of dance technique, dance philosophy and an important choreographic voice – one that is rooted in identity and pushing the boundaries of stylistic genres.
Adam W. McKinney
Artistic Director, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre -
Kara’s work is sophisticated and clever. She generates movement phrases in real-time and from a place of authenticity that forced our students into a sense of hyperawareness. I believe Kara was instrumental in helping some of our young artists reach a level of confidence that will have a lasting impact on their artistry.
